Tips how to win ranked match with correct hero combination!!

         Ok ok, many of you keep asking me to make a guide for rank match. To be honest, this is more easier than siege battle. First of all, what is rank match? Ok, some of you know this mode very well, but for new player, they only know about casual legion war. There are two types of mode, Ranked Legion War and Ranked Hero Arena. In this post I will focus on Ranked Legion War first. Rank match is mode that you gain 1 star every time you win the match, and you lost 1 star every time you lose. They have star protection system that make you climb up rank easy. But to active this star protection, you need acquire enough point first, higher your rank, more point you need to active star protection. For new player, you can unlock this mode when you reach level 25 for your account, just do some battle for 2/3 days, and you can reach level 25. This mode use the same map as casual legion war, the different is you fight in 5 vs 5 battle, unlike casual match that are 7 vs 7 and 10 vs 10 (and one casual mode that called "rank match practice"). In this mode, you and your enemy can ban (unable to use) one hero each. So, there will be 2 hero to ban, 1 from your team and one from enemy team, so choose who want to ban wisely. 

        Ok, now we are talking about how to win rank match. The answer is easy, you need to know your team hero composition before the match start. If you know what your team needed, and use it, you will win rank match more. Before that, I give explanation about hero role in my first post LINK, you can read it and you are ready to go. Second, you need to know where you fight, different map require different hero combination. There 2 type of map, field map and city map. Where field map is the place that cavalry hero shine, while city map is place for archer to shine. Never use archer on field map nor use cavalry on city map. They are become useless if you use wrong hero type in wrong map.

        You will ask me, WHY??!! I tell you why, first, archer hero are not good in field map, because it is a field, flat terrain, as archer, you need to find high ground to shoot enemy effectively. The reason about this is because archer can't shoot through ally unit. You ally unit will block your arrow, even if there aren't friendly fire in this game, but you will waste your time and arrow if you try to shoot enemy in the same terrain as your ally unit (flat terrain). And in the field map, you can't find any good spot or high ground to shoot the enemy. Second, never use cavalry hero on city map (narrow map), the reason about this is because as cavalry you need a big open map so you can maneuver easily, and in this game, cavalry will deals more damage at high speed (the more speed you have, more damage you deal), in city map you can't reach this speed, in this case, when you try to attack enemy, if you have high speed, you will knock back and run pass through the enemy. But if you have low speed, you will get stuck in the middle of enemy, you can't do anything and if you get stuck, you will die immediately. But for some map, they have field area and city area, this map is special, you can use cavalry and fight in open area, or you can play as archer and fight in the building area.

        So here the list of map in ranked legion war : 🏆

• Field map (cavalry map) : Stirling River
• City map (archer map) : Sicillia, Yilling, Yangzhou Town, Zhuzhou Stronghold, Gallia, Orleans, Jerusalem, Luoyang, Hafsid City, Gaixia
• Mix (cavalry and archer map) : Xilliang, Xiangping Outpost, Zhongzhou Forest, Horn of Hattin, Golden Grassland
• Infantry only map : Edinburgh

        As you see, there is only one field map, and that is true, so you can use archer almost on every available map. Ah, again, Edinburgh is different, it is not suitable for cavalry and archer, the only archer that fit in this map are Edward and Li Guang, because of their barrage skill, means you can shoot arrow from above. Edinburgh is a city map, that is narrow (not suitable for cavalry) and you can't find any high ground place here, means this map is flat terrain. Next, I will tell you about what hero combination to use on every map, use this combination, tell your team, and you can increase your win percentage for sure!

        Here is the best hero composition in rank game (field map) :

• 4 cavalry, 1 spear hero
• 3 cavalry, 2 spear hero
• 2 cavalry, 1 shield hero, 2 spear hero

        Here is the best hero composition in rank game (city map) :

• 2 shield hero, 2 DPS, 1 archer
• 2 shield hero, 1 DPS, 1 support, 1 archer
• 2 shield hero, 2 DPS, 1 support
• 1 shield hero, 2 DPS, 1 support, 1 archer

        Here is the best hero composition in rank game (mix map) :

• 2 shield hero, 1 DPS, 1 archer, 1 cavalry
• 2 shield hero, 1 support, 1 archer, 1 cavalry
• 1 shield hero, 2 DPS, 1 archer, 1 cavalry
• All combination in city map included

        You need to pay attention on your weapon too, and you need understand that spear counter cavalry and shield counter archer, so I recommend that you have at least one spear unit on every map, spear is good, it can counter cavalry and be your team main DPS too. So before you decide to pick your hero, you need to have hero that can counter cavalry, and hero that counter archer. To counter archer, you can pick Hanzo, Yu Ji, or Diao Chan. And for spear hero, I recommend Zhang Bao or Zhang Fei.
